About the Journal

Desarrollo Sostenible e Innovación Global (DSIG) is an international, peer-reviewed, open-access scholarly journal academically edited by the Facultad de Ciencias Agrarias y Naturales, Universidad Técnica de Oruro (Bolivia) and co-edited by Editorial JOGB (Ecuador), which provides editorial and publishing support. The journal publishes original research articles and review articles in English and Spanish and applies double-blind external peer review to research and review manuscripts.

Aim

To publish interdisciplinary research that generates evidence, methods, technologies, and policy-relevant knowledge for sustainable development, environmental stewardship, resilient territories, responsible innovation, and the sustainable transformation of production and natural-resource systems.

Scope

The journal welcomes manuscripts that make a clear scholarly contribution in one or more of the following areas:

  • sustainability science and implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals
  • climate change mitigation, adaptation, vulnerability, resilience, and climate services
  • environmental management, environmental assessment, pollution prevention, and restoration
  • biodiversity, conservation, ecosystem services, and sustainable use of natural resources
  • sustainable agriculture, agroecology, soil and water management, and resilient agri-food systems
  • renewable energy, energy transition, energy efficiency, and low-carbon development
  • circular economy, cleaner production, waste management, and resource efficiency
  • territorial, rural, and regional development linked to sustainability outcomes
  • environmental governance, public policy, institutions, and socioeconomic dimensions of sustainability
  • sustainable cities, infrastructure, mobility, and community resilience
  • technological, digital, social, and organizational innovation when directly connected to measurable sustainability challenges or outcomes
  • risk management, disaster resilience, and adaptation of socioecological systems
  • integrated approaches to water, food, energy, land, and ecosystem management

Types of Articles

The journal publishes four peer-reviewed article types: original, review, systematic review and brief communication.

Publication Frequency

The journal follows a semiannual publication schedule with two issues per year: Issue 1 covers January through June and Issue 2 covers July through December. Submissions are accepted throughout the year. The journal must publish according to this declared schedule.

Languages

Manuscripts may be submitted in English or Spanish. Regardless of the language of the full text, the final published article must include the title, abstract, and keywords in English and Spanish. English-language metadata must be clear and suitable for an international scholarly audience.

Editorial Responsibility

The Editor-in-Chief is MSc. Alfredo Ancasi Mamani. Editors coordinate editorial assessment and peer review under the journal policies. The final decision to accept or reject a manuscript rests exclusively with the Editor-in-Chief, except when a conflict of interest requires a formally designated non-conflicted Acting Editor-in-Chief for that manuscript.

Interoperability

The journal exposes structured metadata through the Open Archives Initiative Protocol for Metadata Harvesting (OAI-PMH). The journal OAI-PMH endpoint is https://desarrolloinnovacion.org/index.php/dsig/oai. OAI-PMH supports metadata harvesting and interoperability; it is distinct from the journal's long-term preservation arrangements, which are described in the Digital Preservation and Interoperability Policy.
